T Ramasami appointed Sec, S

New Delhi, May 23 (UNI) Dr T Ramasami, presently Director in the Central Leather Research Institute, Chennai has been appointed as the Secretary in the Department of Science and Technology (Ministry of Science&Technology).

Consequently, Dr M K Bhan, Secretary, Department of Biotechnology (Ministry of S&T) shall cease to hold additional charge of the post from the date Dr Ramasami takes over charge.

Mr Raghubir Singh (IA&AS; 1972 batch) has been appointed Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Ms Rita Menon, IAS (UP, 1975 batch) will take over as the Additional Secretary in the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, while Mr S Maria Desalphine, IAS (J&K cadre: 1974 batch) will hold charge as Additional Secretary, Dept of Agriculture and Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture.

Mr P C Chaturvedi, IAS (UP, 1975 batch) will take over as the Member (Admin), National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Dept of Road Transport and Highways, Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways.

All the postings have been approved by the Appointments commitee of the Cabinet.
