Soft drinks, coconut water to beat high humidity

Kolkata, May 23 (UNI) Rains in certain areas of the city yesterday failed to bring down the temperature and provide the much needed relief.

The maximum temperature recorded was 36.4 degree Celsius, informed Met official sources.

With humidity level not showing any sign of slowing down, soft drinks and coconut water are selling briskly in this sweltering heat. Weatherman said the relative humidity was 89 per cent today.

The humidity level has been hovering around the high 80s and 90s for the last couple of weeks, with the only exception being the occassional rain.

Met office sources informed that the minimum temperature was 27.6 degree Celsius.
