Show cause notice to Nagaland CM

Kohima, May 23 : The Nagaland Assembly leader of the Opposition I Imkong said the Election Commission of India has served a show cause notice to Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on the Office of Profit issue.

In a statement here today, Imkong said the state Congress has already replied to the notice early this month and waiting for the response of the Commission.

A fifteen-member delegation of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), led by Imkong, had complained that Rio was holding office of profit as chairman of the Nagaland Bamboo Mission and the Nagaland Sports Council.
