RTO official booked for submitting fake caste certificate

Akola, May 23 (UNI) Police have lodged a case against an official of the Regional Transport Office (RTO) in the adjoining Buldhana district for securing job in the department by submitting a fake caste certificate.

Police said RTO's assistant motor vehicle inspector Ravindra Dnyandeo Solanke, while applying for the job, had submitted a certificate claiming that he belonged to the Rajput Bhamta caste.

However, when the transport commissioner send the certificate to the verification committee in Amravati, it was found to be fake.

Following this, an FIR was lodged against Solanke with police at Buldhana yesterday, even as he is yet to be arrested.
