Robbers loot about Rs 2.85 lakh from bank

Ferozepur, May 23 (UNI) Four armed robbers on a pistol point looted about Rs 2.85 lakh from a Punjab National Bank branch at Sandha Hasham village in this district today, police said.

The robbers, one of them masked, came to the bank around 1220 hours and locked its staff alongwith few customers in a room before looting the cash from a trunk. The guard of the bank was on leave today.

All the robbers decamped with the money. Immediately after the incident police reached the spot and launched a manhunt to nab the culprits, SSP A Shukla said.

This is second incident of robbery in Ferozepur town within ten days.
