Raids on travel, immigration agents in Rajasthan
Jaipur, May 23 (UNI) The Special Operation Group (SOG) today continued their raids at premises of several travel and immigration agents accused of cheating and sending unemployed men abroad on forged documents.
Simultaneous searches were conducted at Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Alwar, Bharatpur and Jaipur yesterday which went on late into the night.
The special group arrested five people in Sikar. They have been identified of Radheyshyam, Laxman Singh and Bhavru Khan of Fatehpur Kotwali and Shivprasad Saini of Shivprasad Saini and Subhash Kumawat of Ranoli.
Sources said the police had been receiving complaints about cheating illiterate people and sending them to foreign lands with forged documents. They charged the people exhorbitantly, the sources added.
The police raided the premises and seized passports, visas, medical certificates and stamps in large numbers. These travel agents carry out their illegal operations from their residence, shops and offices.
Reports from Churu say raids were conducted in 10 places. Three places were raided in Churu, five places in Sujangarh, one in Chapar and one in Ratangarh.
The raids were conducted in Churu under deputy superintendent Dev Kishan Sharma of the Crime Branch. Cases under Section 420 of Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused.
