Only 'sangh parivar' can rescue BJP in Jharkhand: Rai

Ranchi, May 23 (UNI) Taking serious note of possible fallout of Babulal Marandi's resignation from the BJP and the Lok Sabha, Ravindra Rai, a senior party MLA today said only the 'Sangh Parivar' could rescue the saffron brigade from its present crisis in Jharkhand.

Mr Rai, former Jharkhand minister and considered close to the Mr marandi, also expressed concern over the growth of regional parties in Uttar Pradesh, known as the nerve centre of national politics.

In an interview to UNI here, he said the Central leadership in Delhi needs to take up the matter seriously if they were contemplating the former BJP national vice president's comeback.

Hoping that the sangh parivar could do the miracle, Mr Rai, who recently declined the post of party's state president urged the BJP leadership to look seriously at regional feelings and aspirations.

''I am an active member of the BJP and hence I am worried,'' he said, adding, he joined the Sangh Parivar in 1975 during emergency period.

Mr Marandi also joined the RSS in 1980, he said.

The former minister recalled that in many situations, the sangh had worked towards building the saffron brigade and hoped that this time too if they (RSS) swing into action, some positive result (about Mr Marandi's comeback) could be possible.

Asked about BJP's position in Jharkhand, he said the issues of corruption, extremism and development raised by Mr Marandi should not be ignored. The BJP-led government here could retain people's confidence if they addressed the issues seriously, he added.
