MIM leader meets AP CM regarding Sharief's death
Hyderabad, May 22 : Majlis Ittehedul Muslimeen (MIM) MP Asaduddin Owaisi and MIM MLAs Akbaruddin met Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and Home Minister K Jana Reddy in connection with the death of a two-wheeler driver, Sharief.
Sharief had allegedly died while being chased by the police on account of driving without a helmet along with onee Moshin, the pillion rider.
The MIM leaders told mediapersons that the government has agreed to give an ex-gratia of Rs two lakh and a contract job to the next of the kin of the deceased and medical expenses to Moshin.
Earlier, MIM leaders met the Home Minister and demanded action against those police personnel responsible for Sharief's death.
They urged immediate suspension and arrest of the guilty police personnel.
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner AK Mohanty while talking to mediapersons said a case has been registered in the Saifabad police station and the matter was being investigated.
