Kerala experiences heavy rains
Thiruvananthapuram, May 23 (UNI) Pre-monsoon showers lashed almost all parts of Kerala with northern parts experiencing heavy downpour today.
Rain and thundershowers occurred at most places in the state and at a few places in Lakshwadeep, according to the Meteorological Department.
The first South West monsoon showers would hit the Kerala coast on May 30, he predicted.
Kochi and Chertala received seven cm, while Kottayam and Kollengode recorded six cm of rain.
Four cm of rainfall was recorded at Varkala, the sources said.
Thallassery, Chalakudy, Mavelikara and Kumarakom received two cm rain each.
The Met Office in its forecast has said rain or thundershowers were likely at most places in the state and at a few places in Lakshwadeep.
