Kashyap stands by his remark on Speaker
New Delhi, May 23 (UNI) Former Lok Sabha Secretary General Subhash Kashyap, who was today censured by the house for breach of privilege for alleged gross misconduct, today said that he had not indulged in contempt of the House and stood by what he had stated in an interview to a TV channel.
"I stand by every word of what I have said," Mr Kashyap said talking to UNI at a function in which Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat released a book containing collection of speeches by Madhya Pradesh Governor Balram Jakhar.
Mr Kashyap said he had not been informed officially about the resolution reprimanding him for allegedly casting aspersion on the Speaker Somnath Chatterjee and had come to know about it only through the media.Hence,he said,he would not like to make any comment further.
He said he had not said anything that should constitute contempt of the House.
