HC dismisses petition in ice-cream parlour case
Kochi, May 23 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today dismissed a writ petition seeking further investigation into the sensational ice cream parlour case by the CBI.
Dismissing the petition filed by Jameela Mankave, the former treasurer of the women's organisation ''Anweshi'', a Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Mr V K Bali and Mr Justice Kurian Joseph said the allegations were without merit.
The petitioner submitted that there were materials to implicate former Minister and Indian Union Muslim League leader P K Kunhalikutty as an accused in the case.
She alleged that the affidavit filed by the then IG (prosecutions) Sekharan Miniyodan and Additional DGP Jacob Punnose before the Supreme Court exhonerating Mr Kunhalikutty did not go to the root of the case.
Rejecting this argument, the court said there were no materials on record to show that the officers in charge of the investigation had shown any favour to Mr Kunhalikutty.
