Charge framed against Jaiprakash
Jamui, Bihar, May 23 (UNI) A local court today framed charges against former Union Minister Jai Prakash Yadav and nine others for securing unlawful release of his younger brother Vijay Prakash from Khaira police station of the district last year.
Sub divisional Judicial Magistrate Anil Kumar Jha today framed charges against Jai Prakash Yadav and nine others under different sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Earlier, the chargesheet was filed before the court in this regard.
Jai Parakash Yadav had allegedly misused his official position to secure release of his younger brother Vijay Prakash. Mr Prakash, a RJD candidate of Jamui assembly constituency, was arrested by the police on charges of intimidating the voters and carrying fire arms and liquor on a polling day on October 18, 2005.
Mr Yadav and Mr Prakash had surrendered before the court in the case but were later granted bail.
