"Bank on your postman" service launched in AP
Hyderabad, May 23 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister K Rosaiah today launched 'Bank on your postman', the first-of-its-kind postal service in the country.
Addressing a gathering after the launch here, Mr Rosaiah described the service as ''an innovative scheme which will help aged people by delivering money at their doorsteps. The scheme will be ideal for replication in other states in the future.'' Observing chit fund agencies and private financial companies were cheating depositors, Mr Rosaiah said the Postal Department enjoyed high credibility and the trust of its customers.
Under the scheme, a customer could withdraw a maximum sum of Rs 5,000. The payment will be made at his doorsteps by the postman.
The scheme will be introduced at all 101 Head Post Offices and all Departmental Sub Post Offices in Andhra Pradesh.
