Bandh to protest naming a market after Dindayal

Sambalpur, May 23 (UNI) Life was affected in the small town of Burla following a dawn to dusk bandh called by the Congress activists to protests renaming the newly built market complex after Dindayal Upaddhyaya.

The market was previously named as Rajiv Gandhi Market complex when the construction began during the tenure of congress chairmanship.

All the shops and commercial establishments, banks including Sambalpur University remained closed while the vehicles remained off the roads.

The bandh, police said, passed off peacefully without any untoward incident.
