AIADMK-MDMK petitions PM on 'conspiracy' to eliminate Vaiko

New Delhi, May 23 (UNI) The AIADMK-MDMK Front has petitioned Prime Minister Manmohan Singh demanding an impartial investigation by a central agency into the alleged conspiracy to eliminate MDMK leader Vaiko.

In a memorandum submitted to Dr Singh, the Front alleged that Union Communication Minister Dayanidhi Maran harbours ''vengeance'' against Mr Vaiko and wanted to ''settle scores'.

Seeking protection and safety of Mr Vaiko and his family and a probe by intelligence agencies, the 15-page memorandum said any delay could prove ''fatal''.

The memorandum, signed by several AIADMK and MDMK members of Parliament, alleged that the current DMK government in Tamil Nadu would not be inclined to take action and investigate the conspiracy.
