5 get life imprisonment for dacoity-cum-murder

New Delhi, May 23 (UNI) A city court has awarded life imprisonment to five people and also handed them a fine of Rs 10,000 for committing dacoity-cum-murder in February 1999.

Additional Sessions Judge Ramesh Kumar gave the punishment to Satbir Singh, Gulamuddin, Kripa Shankar More, Juber Alam and Shiv Ram for knifing one Rekha Sharma to death while committing a dacoity in Bara Hindu Rao area of Old Delhi.

Singh had been arrested on February 4 alongwith the murder weapon.

As many as 22 witnesses had been examined by the court before announcing the order.
