New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today assured Telangana Rashtriya Samiti chief K Chandrashekhara Rao that he would hold discussions with UPA chairperson and Congress president Sonia Gandhi tomorrow on the issue of Telangana statehood.

Dr Singh gave this assurance to Mr Rao when they met this evening.

Mr Rao said the position of TRS was very difficult especially after the BJP announced that it would support a UPA bill on Telangana if it was brought before Parliament.

The meeting comes in the wake of the recent meeting of the Group of Ministers headed by Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee, which remained 'inconclusive,' with one of the members declaring that further meetings are needed to reach a consensus.

The TRS has walked out of the Andhra Pradesh Government, while continuing to be part of the UPA at the Centre. Mr Rao and Minister of State for Rural Development A Narendra are the two TRS ministers in the Manmohan Singh Cabinet.
