Three killed, nine injured in road mishap

Nashik, May 22 (UNI) At least three people, including two women, were killed and nine others injured when the vehicle in which they were travelling fell into a gorge in Bokardara village of the district today.

According to police, the mishap occurred when the Tata Sumo fell into the gorge after it was hit by a speeding truck while going to Aurangabad from Mumbai.

Eleven caterers including two women were travelling in the Sumo t organise feast at a wedding function. The two women caterers and the Sumo driver died on the spot.

Meanwhile, the injured have been admitted to a rural hospital in the Nifad tehsil here.

A case has been registered and police has launched a search for the absconding truck driver.
