Sensex recovers partly after 1,100-pt crash
Mumbai, May 22: The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensitive Index crashed by more than 1,100 points to below 10,000 level this morning on the back of negative sentiments after last week big fall.
The benchmark index dipped to a low of 9,827 points, tumbling by 1,112 points.
The trading was suspended for one hour and resumed at 1300 hrs, leading to a bounce back by more than 500 points.
Sensex traded at 10,213, down by more than 700 points at 1315 hrs.
The National Stock Exchange(NSE) S&P CNX Nifty index fell 350 points to a low of 2,896 points.
Nifty traded 194 points down at 3,052 points.
All the Sensex and Nifty stocks were deep in red.
