Paes moves up, Bhupathi slips down Doubles Rankings
New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) Davis Cup captain Leander Paes moved up a place to 13th while his estranged partner Mahesh Bhupathi slipped a rung to 29th in the latest ATP Doubles Rankings announced today.
Paes and his Czech partner Radek Stepanek lost to top seeds Mike and Bob Bryan in the pre-quarterfinals of the Rome Masters but despite the defeat, Paes improved his last week's position and has 2380 points.
Bhupathi (1605), who also bit dust in the Rome Masters pre-quarters along with his South African team mate Wesley Moodie, dropped to the 29th spot, according to information received here.
The Bryan brothers share the top spot with 5885 points against their name and are followed by Max Mirnyi, Jonas Bjorkman, Mark Knowles, Kevin Ullyett, Daniel Nestor, Paul Hanley, Jonathan Erlich, and Andy Ram.
