India-US group to submit report on clinical research

New Delhi, May 22: India-US Joint Industry Working Group for Biotechnology will prepare a report on transfer of biomaterials, clinical research and new product development and innovation, Science and Technology Minister Kapil Sibal today said.

No separate agreement has been signed for preparing a comprehensive report as this comes under the broad framework of High Technology Cooperation Group, Mr Sibal told the Rajya Sabha during question hour.

Implementation of the report will arise only after the report is received from the working group, he added.

The working group has been set up under the HTCG between the two countries. It is coordinated by FICCI in India and US-India Business Council (USIBC) in the US. The Ministry of External Affairs is the nodal agency for HTCG.
