HDDFC signs agreement with Mother Dairy

Chandigarh, May 22 (UNI) The Haryana Dairy Development Co-operative Federation (HDDCF) has signed an agreement with Mother Dairy for obtaining annual national milk grid price of Rs 15.25 per litre for the year 2006-07 as against average price of Rs 14.70 per litre last year.

This will result in financial benefit of around Rs 3 crore to HDDCF during the year, HDDFC Chairperson Chandravati said here today.

She said a number of schemes had been launched for the benefit of the farmers like the subsidised accident insurance scheme and the white card scheme under which loans were being provided to the farmers up to Rs one lakh for purchase of animals without any collateral security.

The Chairperson said for improving the animal wealth in the State, 16 veterinary doctors were engaged on contract basis for round the clock services to the producers.

The target under the White Card scheme was to extend loans amounting to Rs eight crore and induct 4,000 cattle.
