Five gangsters involved in bus robberies arrested

New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) The Delhi police have arrested five persons involved in hundreds of robberies, cases of snatching and pick pocketing in busy markets and running buses.

The five gangsters were arrested on Saturday night from Raja garden in West Delhi while they were planning to commit another robbery, police said.

The police recovered from the robbers 168 mobile phones, 24 cellphone batteries, two countrymade pistols, one Tata Indica Car, five VCD/DVD players and one Kodak camera.

The recovery of such a large number of mobiles make this the largest ever recovery of stolen mobile phones from any gang, police said.

Investigation revealed that the gangsters have, since 1999, committed hundreds of incidents of robberies, snatching and pick pocketing in busy markets and running buses, mainly on buses along the Ring Road.
