Dacoits waylay truck, rob occupants

Hubli, May 22 (UNI) A four-member gang waylaid a truck on Pune-Bangalore national highway around midnight last night and robbed its occupants of Rs 93,000 cash and two mobile phones.

Police said the truck driver and cleaner were on their way to Chikmagalur from Hubli after selling scrap when the gang chased the truck in their jeep, waylaid it near Shiggaon in Haveri district and committed the crime after assaulting them.
