Srinagar, May 22 (UNI) The ruling Congress today demanded an inquiry by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into yesterday's fidayeen attack on Congress rally at Sher-e-Kashmir park in which seven people were killed and scores injured.

A statement issued by the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) vice president Bashir Ahmad Magray said the attack was a big security lapse.

Our workers were killed and injured in the attack despite claims by security agencies of tight security measures, he said.

Mr Magray demanded a thorough probe by the CBI to bring those behind the attack to book.

He said the probe will also fix the responsibility for the security lapse.

Two fidayeen in police uniform attacked the Congress rally leaving five people, including three Congress supporters dead and scores, including three senior police officers wounded.
