Companies keen to open hotel management institutes

Chandigarh, May 22 (UNI) The Haryana government has received good response from reputed private companies for collaboration in opening the state-of-the-art Hotel and Hospitality Management Institutes at Tilyar Lake, Rohtak and Badkhal Lake, Faridabad.

Minister of State for Tourism Kiran Chaudhary said as many as 26 major companies had sent their expression of interest in this regard.

The groups, which have applied for this purpose, included reputed management institutes, hotel chains, societies, firms possessing experience and expertise in the field of hotels, hospitality, travel and tourism management, she added.

In view of this overwhelming response, the state government was actively working out details for opening of another hotel management institute in Bhiwani.

A committee had also been constituted to make recommendations regarding the selection of the firms to the government.

Ms Chaudhary said setting up of these institutes would generate large scale job opportunities for the youth passing out from these institutes in the prestigious hotels across the country.

The Institutes would impart knowledge, training and skills in the courses of hotel management, hospitality, culinary art and allied trades of travel and tourism such as training of air hostesses, stewards and tourist guides, the Minister said.

Haryana Tourism would make available the required land measuring five acres approximately each at Rohtak and Faridabad to the selected companies for this purpose, she added.

Ms Chaudhary said 25 per cent of the total seats would be reserved for the youth of Haryana in all the management programmes and courses to be imparted in these institutes.
