AR constructs community hall for villagers

Imphal, May 22 (UNI) As a part of the Military Civic Action (MCA) projects initiated by 38 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 59 Mtn.

Bde the Bn handed over community hall to Awangkhul village located at National Highway 53 yesterday.

The project has been initiated to meet the overall aspiration of the local villagers. The community hall for Awangkhul village will be general use of the people of the village for organising various cultural and social function.

The community hall will help around 150 families of the village.

Colonel Vijay Khanna during his speech to the villagers expressed hope that more projects will come to the village from Assam Rifles for betterment of local villager and infrastructural development in near future.

He emphasised upon people to shun violence and join mainstream so that more development can reach them from Government departments.

The Commandant asked the woman society to utilise the sewing and weaving machinery, produce traditional goods and to earn some remuneration for their daily livelihood.

Apart from sewing and weaving centre the vocational training Centre also has been equipped with blacksmith and carpenter tools.

The vocational training centre, has equipment like sewing machines, embroidery, carpenter/blacksmith tools and furniture.
