Nine people gunned down in Bihar

Sheikhpura, Bihar, 20 : At least nine people were gunned down by some armed criminals at Moneypur village under Kasar police station area here tonight.

Police said the criminals, yet to be identified, attacked the village and shot dead nine people when they were planning for third phase panchayat election to be held on Monday.

So far gang rivalry claimed 18 lives in just three days in Bihar.

The killings were following a gang rivalry. Ashok Mahto gang was suspected to be involved in the carnage.

Earlier Akhilesh Sing gang had killed nine people in Gowadih village of Nalanda district on May 18.

Senior police officers have rushed to the scene of crime.
