Maoist extremist escapes from jail

Lohardaga, May 21 : Hardcore CPI(Maoist) extremist Udaynath Urao escaped from jail here last night.

Assistant jailor Swarnalata Bara said Urao was taken to a court here in the morning and brought back to the jail. He also took lunch in the jail but during counting in the evening, he was found missing.

Police have launched search operations to trace Urao.

About 21 cases were pending against him in connection with kidnapping, killing and looting in different police stations of Lohardaga, Garwa and Latehar districts.
