Govt permits Mahyco to market Bt cotton

Hyderabad, May 21 : The Andhra Pradesh Agriculture department has granted permission to Mahyco Seeds Ltd for marketing its Bt cotton hybrid seeds MRC-6322 Bt and MRC-6918 Bt in the state from the next kharif season.

The state government has taken the decision in accordance with the orders of the state High Court.

According to a company press release, the letter granting permission was released on May 18 and the requisite centralised seed license has been issued.

The company said the farmers could now buy the seeds from their nearest dealer.
