Anganwadi worker arrested for torturing children

Bhubaneswar, May 20 : Police today arrested an Anganwadi worker and her brother-in-law on charges of torturing three children during tuition here yesterday.

Police said Gangamunda Anganwadi centre in-charge Kabita Swain and Hemant Swain were arrested after three children were beaten up mercilessly.

The Anganwadi worker, the police said, used a hot iron rod to punish them for failing to answer some questions.

The boys identified as Raghunath Mishra, Kartik Sahu and Balaram Nayak, all in the age group of four, sustained burn injuries on their bodies.
