Weather turns pleasant in UP with rainfall

Lucknow, May 20 (UNI) The weather turned pleasant in Uttar Pradesh following widespread rainfall and storm in the last 24 hours, that brought down the mercury to sub-normal levels.

According to met office, the temperature has gone down below normal in almost all the divisions of the state.

Rainfall also lashed the Uttar Pradesh capital, which recorded a maximum temperature of 36.8 degrees Celsius -- 3 degrees below normal.

However, Jhansi continued to swelter at 43 degrees, which was slightly below normal.

In the next 24 hours, rain/thundershowers accompanied by squall are forecast in all the UP divisions.

UP meteorological office director R K Verma told UNI that the western influence passing through UP has brought along rains and storm.
