Trinamool Congress MLA elect passes away
Bangaon, May 20 (UNI) Trinamool Congress leader and MLA elect from Bongaon Bhupendranath Seth died of cardiac failure early today. He was 72.
He is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters.
A popular leader of the bordering town in North 24 Parganas, Mr Seth became legislator in the state Assembly on Congress ticket in 1982 and 1991.
Contesting on Trinamool ticket this time Mr Seth defeated his nearest rival Pankaj Ghosh of CPI(M).
Mr Seth's death posed a problem for Trinamool Congress, which just got the recognition as the main opposition party in the state Assembly after winning the Bhatpara seat.
Several Trinamool Congress leaders visited the hospital to pay tribute to the departed leader.
