Naganathan made Planning Commission Vice-Chairman
Chennai, May 20 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Government has appointed M Naganathan, a former economics professor, as Vice-Chairman of the State Planning Commission (SPC).
An official release here said Chief Minister M Karunanidhi had reconstituted the State Planning panel.
Mr Naganathan, who unsuccessfully contested the Triplicane seat on a DMK ticket in the Assembly poll, had been named SPC Vice-Chairman.
Bharathidasan University former Vice-Chancellor Jagadeesan, Tamizharuvi Manian, G Chidambaram, Villupuram Government Arts College professor R Srinivasan, retired IAS officer Lakshmikandan Bharathi, Sunithi Solomon and Karumuthu Kannan would be Commission members.
Meanwhile, DMK leader 'Cumbum' P Selvendran had been appointed the Tamil Nadu Government's Special Representative in New Delhi.
