HSIDC acquires additional 1000 acre land at Bawal

Chandigarh, May 20 (UNI) Haryana State Industrial Development Corporation (HSIDC) has decided to expand its industrial growth centre at Bawal in a phased manner to meet unprecedented demand for industrial plots from multinational companies and domestic corporates.

A spokesman of the Corporation said here today that an additional land of 1000 acres abutting the industrial growth centre, Bawal, in Rewari district has been acquired within the shortest possible time of five months by invoking the urgency clause of Land Acquisition Act.

This was necessitated not only to meet the evergrowing demand for industrial plots in this growth centre, but also to counter the competition with the neighbouring state of Rajasthan, as two of its industrial complexes, Bhiwadi and Neemrana, were in close proximity to Bawal, he added.

He said that the first phase of this growth centre was set up about 15 years ago in a relatively backward area of the state under the growth centre scheme of Central Government.

The corporation had already developed and allotted about 1200 acres of land. The prominent companies which were already in operation at Bawal included YKK, Nerolac Paints, Becton Dickinson, REI Agro.

Canal-based water works has also been set up by the corporation at the growth centre which has a storage capacity for 15 days. This is the largest reservoir of water for industrial purpose amongst the industrial estates developed by the corporation in the state.

A dedicated 132 KV sub-station had also been constructed and an effluent treatment plant was nearing completion.
