Dust storm, sharp shower bring down temperature

Gandhinagar, May 19 (UNI) A dust storm followed by a sharp shower here this evening has brought some respite to the people who were reeling under the sweltering heat for the last one month.

According to Indian Meteorological Department (IMA) regional office, the shower appeared to be localised, since monsoon is unlikely to set in south Gujarat not before June 10-15 this year.

The short spell has brought down the temperature by about six degrees Celsius. Interestingly, IMA has not received reports of rain from any other part of Gujarat so far.

Although it had rained momentarily in certain pockets of the capital township and nearby areas, people came out in the open to greet raindrops.
