Visayati community to decide Mafia's case on June 10

Bhilwara, May 18 (UNI) Mafia Bano, who has been asked to get a divorce from her first husband - to continue with her second marriage, will have to wait till the Visayati Community gives its ruling on June 10.

Mafia, 19, was married to her first husband Feroze when she was just three. She never went to her in-laws house as her elder sister who was married into the same family, was thrashed and thrown out by them.

Mafia married Idris recently but has been asked by the Muslim Shariat law and the Visayati community to seek a divorce from her first husband and then get married to Idris again.

''Why should I seek divorce from a person whom I never lived with.

Nor have I ever been to their house," she says.

Feroze is getting married on June 3 here in a community marriage.

After this marriage, Mafia, Feroze, and her second husband Idris - all will come in the category of twice married. Idris was also married in his childhood and took a divorce from his first wife, before marrying Mafia.

Meanwhile Mafia's family members are urging maulvis to rethink before taking any decision.
