UP assembly adjourned sine die

Lucknow, May 18 : Uttar Pradesh assembly was today adjourned indefintely after passage of the thanks motion on the Governor's address to the joint session of the state legislature held on May 11.

In the brief six-day session, the house also passed the first supplementary budget for the year 2006-07 along with a couple of bills.

On the last day, today, the house passed UP Sugarcane (supply and purchase) amendment bill 2006 which abolishes the Constitution of a sugarcane board.
