ULFA leader detained in North Bengal

Siliguri, May 18 (UNI) ULFA leader Mrinal Hazarika has been detained by the West Bengal Police in Siliguri.

Inspector General of Police (North Bengal) Kishanlal Meena said here today that Hazarika was arrested yesterday from a Pradhan Nagar hotel in Siliguri.

Hazarika, who was an ULFA 28 Battalion 'Commander', had come to North Bengal to strengthen the outfit's base in the region, Central Intelligence Bureau sources said.

A SAT-phone was also recovered from Hazarika.
