Two weather-linked deaths in MP

Bhopal, May 18 (UNI) Inclement weather claimed two lives overnight in Madhya Pradesh, police said.

One person was killed and another severely injured after a storm plus showers struck Dewas district felling houses in several villages late yesterday. Lateef was fatally struck by lightning at Satwas village and the other victim was rushed to Indore for treatment.

Roofs blew off 48 persons' abodes in Balya village and 35 in Semli village. A road was blocked for many hours near Bhabhori village in Haatpipalya area after several trees were felled.

Precipitation damaged a large quantity of tendu leaf.

In Udaynagar area, several lakh rupees worth of tendu leaf were blown away.

An unidentified 50-year-old died yesterday afternoon at Hanuman Chowk in Badwani district's Khetia due to the effect of the loo wind.
