Telecom operators warned against passing on customer information:Gov
New Delhi, May 18 (UNI) With a view to checking the menace of the unsolicited telephone calls, the Government has issued instructions to the telecom operators to take strict measures to stop any unauthorised sale of customer information.
Answering a question in the Rajya Sabha through a written reply, Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Shakeel Ahmad said the government has asked the telephone operators to come out with workable solutions to check the calls which their subscribers do not want to receive.
Unauthorised sale of the customer information with the operators to the marketing companies is one of the main reasons for the growing number of unsolicited calls.
