Stephen resigns from UPA convenor post

Ranchi, May 18 (UNI) Mr Stephen Marandi, an indepndent MLA, today resigned from the convenor post of Jharkhand unit of United Progressive Alliance (UPA).

Talking to newsmen, Mr Marnadi said he has resigned from the post as he was not getting support on any issue from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) supremo and union coal minister Sibu Soren and opposition leader in the assembly Sudhir Mahato (JMM).

Reacting to the resignation of Mr Marandi, Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) general secretary Sailesh Sinha told UNI that it would not affect the UPA.

Mr Marandi is a senior leader of the state and it was his own decision, he said.
