Shayan submit petition to Barrackpore court
Barrackpore, May 18 (UNI) Model-turned-actor Shayan Munshi today submitted a report of compliance as directed by a local court on May 13.
Shayan's advocate Subhas Dutta said a petition was also submitted to get back his passport, deposited with the Inspector-in-charge of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) airport Kolkata.
An appeal was made in the petition to get Shayan relieved of the case, registered by the NSCBI, Mr Dutta added.
Munshi, an eyewitness in the Jessica Lal murder case, was granted conditional bail on May 13 by an Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate in a local court after he was arrested.
The Magistrate asked him to submit his passport to the NSCBI Airport Inspector in-charge. He had also asked Munshi to report to Delhi Police and submit a report to this court on compliance in this respect.
Munshi was apprehended by the police at the NSCBI airport at Dum Dum on May 13.
Shayan was first intercepted by the Immigration officials at the international terminal, where he had come with his father and wife.
He was later handed over to the NSCBI Airport Authority police station, where he was interrogated.
Shayan, alongwith his father were about to leave the country, allegedly ignoring a court order. Earlier, he had deposed before a Delhi court about the incident in which model Jessica Lal was murdered but later turned hostile.
A sessions court in Delhi had acquitted all the nine accused in the case that was revived on the basis of a petition challenging the verdict on behalf of the police.
