Ruling SP MLA wounded in freak incident

Lucknow, May 18 (UNI) Samajwadi Party MLA Kashiram from Shahabad assembly constituency in Rampur district of Uttar Pradesh today sustained bullet wounds here when his pistol went off accidently.

Police said the incident occurred at the Darul Shafa residence of the MLA this afternoon, when he was cleaning the firearm.

He was later taken to hospital and given medical aid.

However, the nature of the injury was not serious, police added.
