Renowned film makers honoured in Manipur

Imphal, May 18 (UNI) The Manipur Film Development Corporation (MFDC) has honoured three eminent film personalities of the state at a function held at Imphal.

Those honoured, included noted film maker Aribam Sham Sharma, Director of the documentary film AFSPA 1958 Haobam Pawan, which won the Jury and Critic award at the International Film Festival 2006, and producer of the film B Sunzu.

Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh said the cinema bring social change and assured to help the film makers in their endeavour to produce good films.

The Ministry of Culture under Union Government has also sought a proposal to develop Manipuri film industry, he said.
