NVDA campaign for Sardar Sarovar oustees
Bhopal, May 18 (UNI) The Narmada Valley Development Authority (NVDA) has launched a campaign for addressing problems of families displaced due to raising of the Sardar Sarovar dam's height.
''Eighty-six resettlement sites have been totally developed while three are 90 per cent developed. Two dozen camps were conducted thus far in Badwani, Dhar, Jhabua and Khargone districts,'' NVDA Vice-Chairman Uday Kumar Verma claimed today.
Recently, he reviewed displacement plus progress of resettlement sites in discussions with field officials at Indore. The vice-chairman issued directives that officials ensure foolproof power and water supply.
Mr Verma toured Jhabua district's Kakrana, Anjanwada, Bhetada and Umda villages accompanied by Collector Rajkumar Pathak and NVDA officials.
