MDMK supports reservation struggle

Chennai, May 18 (UNI) Marumalarchi DMK today extended support to the proposed human chain demonstration organised by the Reservation Struggle Committee to be held here on May 23 to support the Centre's move to implement 27 per cent OBC reservation in institutions of higher education.

In a statement here today, MDMK General Secretary Vaiko said the Government's move came after a prolonged struggle and it was highly condemnable that some were opposing it and instigating innocent students to indulge in violence.

He appealed to party cadre to join the human chain in large numbers.
