Aizwal, May 18 (UNI) For the first time of its kind in the state, a marriage was conducted here today in sign language in Lunglei District Church.

The need to use sign language became necessary as both the groom and bride are deaf and dumb.

The groom, clement Vanlalrena is currently the field director of the Mizoram Baptist church, while his bride V Lalremruti is the daughter of a college principal.

Marriage party sources said the bride is a good seamstress and earns quite a lot of money through the dressess she makes.

The groom is also a computer literate and is his father's assistant in his office.

The marriage has been solemnised at the baptist church of Electrict veng locaity in Lunglei by paster C Rothuama, the second biggest town in Mizoram after the state capital.
