Man killed for drinking liquor

Imphal, May 18 (UNI) A man was allegedly lynched by suspected militants for drinking liquor at Thoubal district last night.

Police today said the man, identified as L Bachan, was beaten up badly by suspected militants for drinking and rushed to Regional Institute of Medical Sciences here where he succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile, the All Manipur Anti Drug Association(AMADA) continued its campaign against drug users and distributors. The AMADA said about 40 people were pulled up for allegedly using drug and liquor and more than 3,500 litres of liquor seized in different incidents.
