Malur receives 3 cm rain

Bangalore, May 18 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours today.

Rainfall occurred at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and dry weather prevailed over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka.

Chief raifall amounts (CM): Malur 3; Gowribidanur, C N Halli, Tiptur, Bangalore city, Tumkur 2 each; Srinivasapura, Chintamani, Davanagare, Nelamanala, Bangalore AP 1 each.

Maximum temperatures fell at most places over North Interior Karnataka and at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and changed little over Coastal Karnataka. They were above normal at most places being appreciably so at a few places over North Interior Karnataka; appreciably above normal at many places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over South Interior Karantaka.

Raichur recorded highest maximum temperature of 43.1 degree celsius over the state.

Forecast valid until Saturday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at isolated places over South Interior Karnataka and mainly dry weather may prevail over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka.

Farmers weather bulletin: Light to moderate rain likely to occur at isolated places over Kodagu, Mysore, Mandya, Chamarajanagara, Bangalore Rural, Bangalore Urban, Kolar and Tumkur districts of South Interior Karntaka. Mainly dry weather may prevail over all districts of Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka and remaining districts of South Interior Karnataka.

Forecast for Bangalore: Partly cloudy. Rain/thundershowers likely towards evening/night. Maximum teperature would be around 34 degree celsius.
